There are two phone apps I’ve come to depend on as a professional travel and tourism photographer……
A quick session this afternoon with Ned Kelly outrunning the guards and we’re done here in Indigo Shire (though I return next week to do a wider shoot for the regional tourism authority).
It’s been a particularly productive assignment, largely due to the pre-planning we did a few weeks earlier and the sensible decision on the council’s part to get talent in for at least part of the shoot (as I’ve long said, it can improve the outcome in terms of quality and range by as much as 80%).
As you can see from the storyboard below, emphasis was focused on the appeal of a cycling trail that weaves through vineyards, rural settings and historic landmarks.
I’ve just begun my promotional cycle for the year ahead – offering a special Pre-Season Package to clients who book an assignment for 2015, prior to mid-December.
While offering the best value for money for my services throughout the year and scheduling the assignment at a time most suitable to their weather conditions and priorities, the promotion also allows me to plan for the year ahead and work in my publishing projects around them.
I know, it’s a bit early to call but I have back-to-back assignments starting this week so I thought this might be a good time to post a selection of some of my favourite images from 2014.
Apart from sharing the photos, posting them like this provides me with the opportunity to readily review the year’s work and look for ways to broaden and improve my style and refine it to the needs of my clients.
Destinations featured in the selection include South Africa, Vanuatu, Timor-Leste, Papua New Guinea, Saudi Arabia, Samoa and Australia.
My promotional cycle starts this week and, with six assignments already booked for 2015, it’s shaping up to be an equally busy year.
