TOURISM HERO SHOTS – AND WHAT IT TAKES TO CAPTURE THEM

I head off into the South Pacific next week on back-to-back assignments, with both clients keen to get some “Hero Shots” of their destinations.

Given I’m shooting The Cook Islands, then Tahiti, I’ll certainly have some stunning backdrops to choose from (assuming good weather, he rushes to add).

So, I thought I’d add a quick post of what I believe a Hero Shot in tourism is and what it takes to capture one.

MY RECOMMENDATION FOR A HOLIDAY IN THE SOUTH PACIFIC

If I was to recommend a relaxing holiday in the South Pacific to someone who wanted to get off the beaten track a bit and experience some Melanesian culture (as it is – not how it’s dressed up to be for tourists, he adds), I’d head for the Western Province of The Solomon Islands where you could expect some superb snorkelling and diving, postcard-perfect islands to explore, more fresh lobster than you could possibly eat, and the opportunity to enjoy the friendly, simple life of a Melanesian village.
