Finally, a good day but, by crikey, I had to earn it – thundering across the lagoon in an open boat in the stinging rain and out into open sea to reach an island “just two hours ways”….four hours later. It was a gamble that the conditions would improve but the Gods must have witnessed my suffering and decided to reward me with a postcard perfect island, blue water and – at least for two hours – blue skies and sunshine, before we made the journey back. Was it worth it you may ask? It certainly wouldn’t have been if I didn’t get these photos (below) and the range of promotional pictures I’ll upload when I get the chance.
I’m flying out to The Marshall Islands tomorrow for the second leg of this project. Despite three days of bad weather, Kiribati has been a productive and enjoyable shoot.
