Its still pouring so I’m playing with a few of the photographs we captured today of two young performers from the cultural group I attempted to shoot yesterday.
When its raining, my options tend to narrow to people, culture, interiors, food and waterfalls (the later of which – at barely a metre above sea level at is highest point – Kiribati has a serious shortage).
These photographs received the black and white treatment and, while they will never make the cut of tourism pictures I’ll deliver to this project, I’ve enjoyed the challenge of viewing my subjects differently and interpreting them in monochrome.
Tomorrow, hopefully, the clouds will part and colour will return to my life in time to get me to that remote island we are still planning to visit before I head off to the Marshall Islands in three days.
