Possibly the greatest challenge in being parachuted into a foreign country to capture appealing promotional images of its tourism highlights is in being efficient.
That means capturing the best image you can in whatever circumstance you find yourself and accepting you may not have the time – or be there at the right time – to capture the picture you know can be shot. It means deciding on priorities and weighing up the consequence of choosing one shot over another; it’s about never losing sight of the goal which is to produce the best possible range of images of the destination you can within the time you’ve been given.
Beyond that, it needs to be recognised that the bulk of the images you capture will be easily forgotten…..which is why it’s so important for you to do everything you can to ensure that at least a few of them are not.
