JAPAN ASSIGNMENT ENDS ON A WINDY NOTE

One of the benefits of being a photographer stuck in your hotel room during a typhoon is that you get to catch-up on some long-overdue processing (Okinawa Airport is closed down until further notice; typhoon updates are flashing across my TV screen as I type).

Despite the inclement weather though, it’s been a productive shoot in what has proved to be a fascinating country to which I’ll look forward to returning.  Highlights have included the food (small, tasty, beautifully presented servings), the chance to observe and experience a county and culture very different to my own, and – for a photographer excited by colour – the opportunity to photograph this young woman (below) dressed in the prefecture’s traditional costume.

Here’s a short preview of some of the photographs captured.

Next Assignment: Papua New Guinea.
